G2 Peak View is an app for Even Realities G2 that shows the ridgeline and mountain names visible from your location. This policy explains what the app handles and how.
The app requests exactly two permissions.
Purpose: Only to compute the ridgeline visible from where you are, and the direction and distance of each mountain.
Handling: Your location is used for computation on your phone only and is never sent to the developer. The developer runs no server and does not receive your location.
If your location is unavailable, the app shows a placeholder location (the summit of Mt. Takao) and says so on screen.
Purpose: Only to download the elevation data needed to compute the ridgeline.
Destination: The app connects solely to the elevation tile server of the
Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), https://cyberjapandata.gsi.go.jp.
What is sent: The identifiers (tile numbers) of the elevation data being downloaded. Because the tiles cover roughly 150 km around your location, GSI’s servers can infer your approximate area, in the same way as when a map app downloads map images. Your exact coordinates and anything that identifies you are not sent. GSI handles its server data under its own policies.
The app does not store your location or settings on your device. Downloaded elevation data is discarded when the app closes.
G2 has no camera, and the app never captures, records or sends images of the scenery. The ridgeline shown is computed from elevation data.
The app does not sell or share any information with third parties. It shows no ads and uses no analytics.
The app uses GSI’s “Elevations of Major Mountains in Japan” and GSI elevation tiles, processed by the developer. Whether a mountain is visible is estimated from terrain data only; trees, buildings and weather are not considered. Do not use the app for route finding or safety decisions in the mountains.
